New Yeti sb6c build first ride review

First Ride Of My New Yeti sb6c: By Dean Masterton

So the new sb6c landed in the shop early which made the excitement levels hit the red line.
From the first ‘getting it out the box’ peek it looked awesome in all its turquoise and kashima glory!!

So with no further a do it was quickly rushed to the workshop for a top spec build.
With that done it was time to hit the trails.

Russ and i headed to the proving ground aka Brighstone forest for a shakedown test on what turned out to be probably the worst day for rain we’ve seen in months.

To gain a good comparison we took russ’ sb66 so we could back to back them.
Straight out of the car park the sb6c felt lively and the first hill climb was a breeze helped by its 27.5 wheels and 29lb weight even the slack 65 degree head angle didn’t hold it back.
Even with the fox float x shock in the descend it still climbed like a mountain goat with virtually no bob.
With that done and ticked of the check list it was time to test the sb on the downhills which is what this bike was designed for by 2014 ews champ Jared Graves.

It was russ’ turn to get behind the bars and within a few pedal strokes he was leaving the sb66 in its wake of freshly fallen leaves.
The speed it produces from its super efficient switch affinity suspension design was crazy and cornering is felt with like it’s on rails even it the greasy conditions.
We decided to have another run on the same trail but switch riders just to make the comparison between the two bikes, again Dean now riding the sb6c pulled away out of the blocks, proof enough that it was the bike doing the hard work. We both agreed that this bike could possibly be the best ‘do it all’ bike on the market at the moment and definitely a game changer with its unique suspension design.
