Team Wight Mountain/Red Funnel Pouring at Prospect Park

Team Wight Mountain/Red Funnel Cyclocross

Prospect Park, Reading, was last weekend’s round venue. Three riders were on the start list, two vets, one lady and one senior. , they were lulled into a false sense of security on the practise lap, until torrential rain changed the course, it then turned into a mud bath with sleet and rain.
Despite the difficult conditions, Martyn Dymond continued his hold on the vet 50 championship
finishing a credible 17th overall and 1st vet 50. Steve Dines enjoying the mud had a better race then previous weeks to finish 42nd overall and 8th vet 50.
Alec Broome, also enjoying the slip and slide of the course, finished 25th in the senior race.
Hazel Jowett after a long absence due to illness completed the very difficult course making a welcome return to the team.
